Bettina Cameron is an inspiration to anyone wanting to lose weight. She’s been a trucker for 17 years with her husband Brian, and living on the road, she typically ate fast food and snacked on candy bars and diet soda.

Bettina tried dieting for years, but it wasn’t until she tried to climb to the top of a waterfall in Jamaica that she realized she needed to do more than diet, she needed to change her life.

“That was the first time it really hit me that I couldn’t do what I wanted to do,” she says. So instead of dieting again, where she’d lose 30 pounds and gain back 40, she set out on a quest to make her weight loss permanent.

Cameron began her lifestyle change by choosing natural snacks like fruits and nuts. She also began a regular exercise regime, working out an hour every day when she’s on the road.

How does she do it? Well Bettina says she either lifts weights or uses a yoga mat. When she’s home she goes to the gym, and works out for three hours a day, twice a week.

It’s been a little over one year since Cameron started her weight loss program and she’s already lost 70 pounds! Her goal is to lose an additional 75 pounds this year.

She also started a Facebook page documenting her journey called “Losing It.” The cover photo for her page says: “If you have time for Facebook, you have time to work out.”

Bettina says she wants the page to be an inspiration to her followers. “When I’m looking for an excuse to not go to the gym, I remember that there are 253+ people who are looking for an excuse.”
