In 1939 the Peterbilt truck company built it’s first line of trucks, and only 15 of them were made that year. Since then, the company has grown into a truck driver and big rig enthusiast’s fan favorite for their looks, tradition, and performance.
So when Bob Dean, who runs a restoration shop in Baton Rouge, La., happened to come into possession of one of the first Petes’ ever made, a 1939 Model 260, he couldn’t resist restoring back to it’s old glory.
This was what the truck looked like when it was found abandoned in an Arizona desert.
This is the Peterbilt truck after Dean finished an amazing restoration.
The truck was also on display at the 2014 Mid America Truck show for fans to take photos with.

After Dean and his team spent over 200 hours restoring this beauty, the Peterbilt company purchased it from him and it is now proudly displayed in their Denton, Texas facilitiy.
