A truck driver recently put out a public response to a New York Times article called ‘The Trucks Are Killing Us.’
The article essentially called truck drivers ruthless killing machines that are allowed to run free due to insufficient safety regulations.
The author, Howard Abramson, called for Congress to empower regulators “to do what must be done in order to reduce the continuing carnage on our highways [caused by semi trucks].”
Many drivers were appalled by the misinformation in the New York Times piece, and one driver decided to put out this response video which summed up what most of us were thinking.
The video follows YouTuber Renegade Trucker, and highlights some of the dangers that commercial drivers deal with on an day-to-day basis, often times due to careless passenger vehicles they share the road with.
For commercial drivers, it’s nothing new. For everyone else, hopefully, it’s eye opening. In summary, the New York Time’s bold declaration of “the trucks are killing us” is just flat out wrong.
