A speeding motorist cut off a semi truck in Houston on Monday, causing the big rig to overturn in the middle of the highway.

The accident happened on May 28th at approximately 11:30 p.m. in Houston, Texas.

According to the Houston Chronicle, a motorist driving a Ford Mustang was “driving at high speeds” along Interstate 10, otherwise known as the Katy Freeway, near the West Sam Houston Parkway when he lost control and cut off a tractor trailer, sending the big rig skidding out of control before flipping over and crossing into the HOV lane.

No injuries were sustained in the incident, but both the Mustang and the semi truck sustained serious damage in the crash.

The big rig, which was hauling drinking water, had to be unloaded before crews could right the trailer.

Witnesses claim that the Mustang was racing someone in a Mercedes sedan just prior to the crash, but police have yet to confirm this allegation.

The roadway was closed into Tuesday morning, but has since been reopened.

The incident is still under investigation.
