A motorist went airborne Dukes of Hazzard style while trying to maneuver around a truck in Haddon, England.
The startling footage was captured on another truck driver’s dash cam.
The incident happened back in December 2016, but the dash camera footage was recently released by local police.
In the clip, a car is seen trying to pass a truck at roundabout, but losing control and striking a barrier before going airborne. The car then hits a tree mid-air, ripping off its bumper.
“The car was completely out of control and went straight into the roundabout, straight on, where it launched into the air. I remember thinking as it went in the air, ‘They’re not going to make it,” the truck driver who recorded the incident told police.
Amazingly, both the driver, 32-year-old Tania Chikwature, and her 19-month-old son survived the crash
According to Cambridgeshire Police, Chikwature was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Police found an open Vodka bottle in her vehicle, and her blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit when she was tested in a police station 5 hours after the incident.
Chikwature was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail for dangerous driving and driving while intoxicated.
