
The names of the drivers involved in a fatal crash between a semi truck and a sedan that blew through a stop sign were released Tuesday.
The accident happened on Sunday, March 11th at around midnight in Midland County, Texas, but the names of the drivers were not released until Tuesday, March 13th.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2002 Freightliner semi truck was traveling south on Highway 349 when a Mustang sedan failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 140 and State Highway 349. The Mustang then drove directly into the path of the oncoming semi truck, seriously damaging both vehicles and sending the big rig careening into the yard of a nearby residence.
The driver of the Mustang, 21-year-old Yoel Baca, was killed in the accident. The truck driver, 42-year-old Daouda Tall, was not hurt.
