Ean Hannah wasn’t always a trucker. But when his family fell on hard times, he needed a new job. He needed stability.

But he didn’t expect to find a new way of life.

In this video by Texomatic Pictures, filmmaker Tex Crowley reveals Ean’s transformation from man into trucker.

Ean recalled a vivid memory of his work days at a construction site when he would watch the truckers driving flatbeds. He remarked, with a laugh:

“Everyday I’d just watch those guys coming in and out, and they always had nice clothes on, for some reason…And I wanted that same for us.”

And so, that’s what he did.

Because of truck driving, his family could now afford the things in life that they simply couldn’t before. Sure there is give and take with his job, probably a bit more than most. But a trucker’s family knows that sacrifice comes hand in hand with the reward.

This is the trucker’s life. It is the life he has chosen, and it’s freedom.

Without a shred of doubt, he commented:

“For me, personally, truck driving is a gratifying job. It gives me a sense of pride, and a sense of accomplishment for my family. And I’ll do this til the day I die.”

That long stretch of road ahead that never seems to end, it calls his name, and it’s a road he wants to follow.

In the end, it’s all worth it.
