A man was killed Wednesday after police say he jumped out of his moving car and into the path of an oncoming semi truck.
The incident happened on September 6th at around 7:55 p.m. Catonsville, Maryland.
Maryland State Police say that 38-year-old Michael C. Dent was driving his 2018 Nissan on the outer loop of Interstate 695 when he struck the back end of another vehicle on the ramp from Security Boulevard. Dent then continued driving along I-695 before opening his door and jumping out of the moving vehicle, landing in the path of an oncoming semi truck.
Dent was then accidentally struck and killed by the semi truck and his unmanned Nissan continued traveling along I-695 for a quarter mile before it came to a stop along the barrier wall, reported WBAL TV.
No one else was hurt in the incident, which is still under investigation by police.
The name of the semi truck driver involved in the incident has not been released.
