
An SUV swerved out of its lane and crushed a man unloading a box truck earlier this week.
The tragedy happened on Tuesday, July 18th at approximately 4:30 p.m. in Hialeah, Florida.
According to CBS Miami, 54-year-old Franklin Burn was unloading the box truck, which was stopped on East 10th Avenue, when a white SUV traveling south swerved out of its lane and smashed into Burn, crushing him between the truck and the car.
The force of the impact pushed the truck several feet away from its original location and killed Burn on site.
The driver of the SUV, 57-year-old Juan Milan, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with critical head injuries.
Some reports have indicated that Milan, may have been distracted by his cell phone.
63-year-old Rafael Rodriguez was inside the cargo area of the box truck at the time of the crash but was not injured.
No other injuries were reported.
Currently, the traffic tapes are being studied by homicide detectives. Charges against Milan are still pending.
