Love’s has announced that semi trucks will not be allowed to park at the Ormond Beach, Florida travel center location from October 19th through October 22nd due to the annual Biketoberfest event.
The temporary parking ban will be instated at the Love’s located at Highway 1 and Interstate 95, exit 273 in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Biketoberfest, which is held in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area, brings thousands of motorcyclists to the Ormond Beach area each year, creating an “unusually high traffic volume” in and around Daytona Harley Davidson, right next door to the Ormond Beach Love’s location.
“In past years, the increased traffic volumes for truckers waiting to fuel, combined with the significant influx of cars, trucks, and motorcycles, has caused severe traffic jams, forcing state police to close the exit,” wrote Love’s in a Press Release.
Because of this “long-term parking won’t be available at this location throughout Biketoberfest… and Love’s can only allow trucks to FUEL AND GO,” the press release continued.
“Love’s wants to provide the necessary fueling service for professional drivers. To ensure that is available, drivers need to continue moving in and out at that exit.”
This particular Love’s location has banned semi truck parking in the past, as its next-door neighbor, Daytona Harley Davidson, is a gathering place for multiple motorcycle rallies throughout the year.
