Love’s Travel Stops has agreed to purchase trucking service chain Speedco, adding 52 new service locations to their network.
The announcement was made on Friday, September 15th.
According to a Love’s press release, Bridgestone Americas, Inc. will sell their trucking service chain, Speedco, to Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores, pending “regulatory approvals and certain other closing conditions.”
The acquisition of the service chain will add 52 tire, inspection, and lube facilities to the Love’s network, bringing Love’s to a grand total of 323 trucking service locations across the nation.
Love’s currently has a total of 430 travel stop locations in 41 states.
“The Speedco organization shares our commitment to providing reliable, high-quality and convenient services to truck drivers and fleets across the country. The addition of the Speedco locations to Love’s is an important step in continuing to provide the highest standard of service to the trucking industry,” said Tom Love, founder, and CEO of Love’s Travel Stops.
“Speedco is a strong commercial retail service business, and Love’s is the right partner to build on Speedco’s success and ensure a great future for Speedco employees,” said the Chief Operating Officer Bill Thompson of Bridgestone Americas.
“We are excited to continue our relationship with Love’s as a valued partner in the strong Bridgestone distribution network,” Thompson continued.
Until the deal is closed, Love’s and Speedco locations will continue to operate independently.
