Love’s Travel Stops is looking to add more than 3,000 truck parking spots across the country in an aggressive expansion plan for the new year.
Love’s announced its plans to open more than 40 new truck stop locations, as well as expanding their mechanical and other hospitality services, in a press release on their website on Tuesday, January 9th.
The 40 planned new locations will feature automated showers, a total of 3,100 truck parking spots, and will add 2,500 new jobs to the surrounding communities. The new year will also see automated showers added to nearly all Love’s locations, 42 more public laundry service locations, and three new hotels added to Love’s Hospitality.
“We diligently listen to our Customers’ needs and are dedicated to meeting them and improving professional drivers’ quality of life,” said Frank Love, co-CEO of Love’s.
“We’re doing our part to address the truck parking shortage by adding more than 3,100 parking spaces at newly built travel stops. Our Customers will also have increased access to reliable maintenance services because we are adding light mechanical offerings to select Speedco locations to help them get back on the road faster,” Love continued.
On top of the tire and mechanical services to be offered at Love’s newly acquired Speedco locations, Trillium, a chain of compressed natural gas fueling stations acquired by Love’s in 2016, will be offering electric vehicle charging stations, solar panel installation, and hydrogen fueling in the upcoming year.
Love’s says that the new 2018 initiatives are in response to feedback from professional drivers.
