A driver was able to disconnect his truck from his trailer after the reefer unit on his trailer caught fire on Interstate 80.

The fire erupted on November 20 th at approximately 6:50 a.m. in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

According to KGWN, the tractor trailer was traveling on Interstate 80 near mile marker 396 when its reefer unit caught fire, eventually spreading to the rest of the front of the trailer and starting a small grass fire.

The trucker was able to disconnect the trailer from the tractor, saving the tractor, and himself, from harm.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Crews worked to clear the debris from the roadway for several hours, but it has since been cleared.
