A section of eastbound Interstate 69 in Michigan was shut down Wednesday after a tractor trailer overturned during the season’s biggest snow fall this year so far.
The incident happened on December 13th at approximately 12:00 p.m. south of Lennon, Michigan.
According to ABC 12, the loaded tractor trailer was traveling on Interstate 69 near the Michigan Highway 13 interchange when it lost control on the snowy roads and overturned into the median, landing on top of a guardrail and significantly damaging the truck.
The unidentified truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital but the extent of his injuries is not known.
Sheriff’s lieutenant Scott Braun advised drivers to “go as slow as they can go.”
As of 2:42 p.m., only one lane is open on the eastbound side of the highway, causing traffic to move at a crawl.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible and exercise extreme caution if travel is a must.
