A stretch Interstate 40 east in Texas was shut down after a collision involving two FedEx tractor trailers.
The accident happened at I-40 and Hope Road, just west of Amarillo, at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
DPS officials say that one of the drivers fell asleep and lost control of his rig, striking a second FedEx truck that was hauling double trailers, before overturning.
Both drivers sustained non life-threatening injuries in the incident.
All Interstate 40 eastbound lanes were closed at exit 62A.
As of 10 a.m., traffic was still being detoured to nearby frontage roads.
I-40 east is expected to remain closed for several more hours as crews unload the cargo and clean the debris from the highway. An estimated time of reopening has been set for 2:00 p.m.
The identities of the drivers involved have not been released.
