Garbage truck driver, Christopher Miller, began to cross roailroad tracks in Pike County, Illinois, yesterday when the back up his truck was hit by a Norfolk Southern train.
The impact caused Miller to lose control of his vehicle, and he ended up in a ditch. He sustained minor damages, and was taken to Blessing Hospital where he’s expected to make a full recovery; according to police however he was also ticketed for not wearing a seat belt.
This is the second incident in as many days of a truck driver getting hit by a train, after a truck driver in Kentucky who was carrying lighter fluid was struck and sustained serious injuries as he was crossing rail road tracks.
