A truck carrying boxes of lighter fluid was struck by a train on Highway 2227 in Kentucky’s Pulaski County on Friday.
The semi truck exploded on impact, causing serious burns and injuries to the driver who was airlifted to the University of Kentucky hospital.
The impact caused the cab of the semi truck to end up on the west side of the tracks, with the trailer still on the east side. A nearby water park was also evacuated, after the explosion caused black smoke to cover the area.
The driver’s name has not yet been released and the accident is still being investigated.
