
Interstate 77 has been reopened after slick, rainy roads sent a tractor trailer crashing into the median, shutting down the southbound lanes.
The accident happened at around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20th in Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the tractor trailer was traveling in the southbound lanes in rainy conditions near Lasalle Street when the rig jackknifed and overturned, landing on top of the concrete barrier wall and scattering pieces of concrete across the roadway.
Luckily, no other vehicles were involved in the wreck and the truck driver made it out unhurt, reported WSOC News.

All southbound lanes and all but one northbound lane of I-77 were shut down as crews worked to right the wrecked rig and clear the chunks of concrete from the roadway. All lanes were reopened as of 10:00 a.m.
The truck driver was issued a citation for exceeding safe speed for the conditions.
