
A section of Interstate 74 was closed on Tuesday after a after a car carrying a video gambling machine lost control and crashed, spilled cash across the highway.
The accident happened on January 23rd at approximately 1:00 p.m. in Champaign County, Illinois.
According to Illinois Home Page, the driver carrying the video gambling machine was going too fast when they lost control, hit a guardrail, and spun out into another car, spreading 5s, 10s, and 20s across the highway.
A third car then spun out while trying to avoid the accident and ended up in a ditch.
The driver of the first car, whose name has not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery.
No other injuries have been reported.
A portion of the interstate was closed for about an hour as crews used brooms to sweep the money into duffel bags, and picked up other bills by hand, but the roadway has since been reopened.
