US Highway 60 has been reopened following a crash involving two semi trucks that shut down the highway for 10 hours.

The crash happened on Monday, October 30th at approximately 5:30 p.m. in McCracken County, Kentucky.

On Monday evening, a semi truck hauling ball bearings driven by 51-year-old David Stanley was stopped at a red light at the intersection of US Highway 60 and Kentucky Route 305. That’s when a semi truck hauling eggs driven by 76-year-old Harlen Seal failed to stop at the red light and crashed into the back of Stanley’s semi, reported KFVS 12.

The force of the impact sent the cab of the egg-hauling-truck crashing into the back of the trailer hauling ball bearings, breaking open both trailers and scattering eggs across the highway.

Seal was airlifted to a nearby hospital. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

Stanley was also taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A portion of US 60 was closed throughout Monday night and into early Tuesday morning as crews worked to remove spilled eggs from the roadway. US 60 was reopened at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
