As a truck driver, some of the things you see on the road will make you scratch your head. Especially the things you see from passenger vehicles.
But why do they do what they do? Thanks to this video from self-described “beauty enthusiast” and popular YouTuber Jennifer Ruiz, now you can get a glimpse of what goes on in their head.
In the video, she describes an incident with a semi truck that she experienced while driving her Volkswagen Beetle in California.
She describes “flipping off” a truck driver, illegally cutting him off twice because she was “irritated” that he wouldn’t let her merge, and talking on her phone while driving.
“It’s not my fault you drive a f***** semi truck.” she says, while following up with “I think I need to control my road rage.”
Clearly her sentiment was shared by her viewers, with the video receiving over 90% positive ratings on YouTube .
She wasn’t without her critics, however. Thankfully, several people offered some potentially life saving advice.
Like this person who said “You forget that they are driving a truck with a trailer that’s way over 50,000 lbs and that they can’t just stop on a freaking dime bc youre in a hurry”
And this person that warned her against cutting off trucks because “one day it will cost” her life.
We were on the fence about sharing this, but decided that it would do everyone (both truck drivers and general driving public) some good to address the issue from both sides.
From a truck driver’s point of view, now you have an idea of why some automobile drivers drive the way they do; clearly they’re ignorant to the dangers of such behavior.
And for motorists, it’s a great example of what not to do. It’s just not worth risking your life to prove your frustration.
What advice would you give to motorists like this (in order to make the road safer for everyone)? Let us know in the comments below.
