A FedEx truck hauling double trailers lost control and overturned after someone threw an object through at truck’s windshield.
It happened on Wednesday, July 12th on Route 3 in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.
The 39-year-old FedEx driver told Massachusetts State Police that he was traveling south on route 3 at approximately 1:04 a.m. when he observed an individual emerging from the tree line. At the same moment, an object struck the truck’s windshield, causing the driver to swerve and the rear trailer to overturn.
The driver was not injured in the accident.
A K9 unit investigated the scene and followed a trail from the site of the accident to a nearby home. No one was arrested and no citations were given.
A log was also found in the right lane of the road. Police suspect this may be the object that was thrown.
This incident is the second of its kind in the area in a matter of weeks. On June 22nd , a woman reported a rock being thrown at her windshield by an individual just two exits south of the FedEx truck crash site.
Police are investigating both incidents, as well as their possible connection. Information on the name of the driver as well as what was found in the nearby home has not yet been released.
