A truck driver was cited with a DUI Tuesday following a crash involving three semi trucks.

The accident happened on August 28th at around 5:15 a.m. in Rock Island County, Illinois.

According to the Quad-City Times, three semi trucks were traveling west on Interstate 280 near the Milan exit when 48-year-old Robert Edgar Waters lost control of his big rig and sent it overturning into the median, blocking the left lane of the highway.

A second tractor trailer driven by 59-year-old Michael L. Bundy hit the overturned truck and went crashing into a roadside ditch, partially blocking the right lane which caused 30-year-old driver Mohamed A. Hassan to strike the second wrecked rig, sending him veering into the median where the rig came to a stop.

Miraculously, no one was seriously hurt in the crash, but the first driver, Waters, fled the scene on foot following the accident. He was later located by police and was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, and improper lane use.
