A trucker was killed on Tuesday morning after he experienced a medical emergency on the highway and lost control of his rig.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, it happened on westbound Interstate 4 outside of Lake Mary, Florida at approximately 10:10 a.m.
Troopers report that the driver suffered a medical emergency near mile marker 101, causing the semi truck to run off the road and hit a guardrail. The tractor trailer then overturned, landing upside down on the shoulder of the highway.
The 50-year-old driver was found dead on the scene. His name has not yet been released.
The westbound exit 101A through County Road 46A was shut down for several hours due to the accident, but has since reopened.
