
Officers say a truck driver swerved to avoid a cow in Texas on Friday morning, overturning the tractor trailer and injuring the 4 people inside.
The accident happened on November 17th at approximately 4 a.m. in Kaufman County, Texas.
According to a Department of Public Safety spokesman, the semi truck was heading south on Texas Highway 34 when the truck driver saw a cow in the road. The driver then swerved to avoid the cow, but was unable to avoid the impact. After striking the cow, the trucker veered off the roadway, hitting a tree and overturning in a grassy area.
There were 4 unidentified people inside of the big rig at the time of the wreck, all 4 were injured, but the extent of their injuries is not clear.
The cow was killed in the incident.
Highway 34 was completely shut down between Interstate 20 and FM 2728 as officials investigated the incident and cleared the debris from the road. It has since reopened.
