A livestock hauler survived a freak accident on Tuesday morning, after rear-ending another tractor and sliding underneath its rear axles.
It happened on Tuesday morning, October 17th in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
According to Ohio’s Times-Leader, the livestock hauler was traveling east on Interstate 70, near exit 216, when it slammed into the back of another tractor trailer that was in front of it.
The impact forced the livestock hauler’s truck underneath the rear axles of the second tractor trailer, lifting it off the ground. The livestock hauler’s windshield was shattered, and his trailer, loaded with pigs, slid into a roadside ditch.
Amazingly, no injuries were reported in the accident.
Ohio Department of Transportation workers said they could hear the “screams of livestock coming from the trailer” as crews worked to unload the animals and transport them temporarily to a local farm.
Eastbound I-70 was shut down for approximately 6 hours and traffic was seriously backed up as crews worked to clear the scene.
