A crash involving two semi trucks has shut down Interstate 10 and left two seriously injured.

It happened on Friday, October 6th at approximately 8 a.m. in western Arizona.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, two tractor trailers were traveling east on I-10 near mile marker 77 when a FedEx semi truck hauling double trailers rear-ended another tractor trailer.

Two people had to be extricated from one of the semi trucks. Both were in serious condition and were transported to a nearby hospital, reported ABC 15

All eastbound lanes of I-10 have been shut down. Drivers are advised to exit I-10 eastbound at US-60 near mile marker 31 and take US-60 to Phoenix.

There is no estimated time for the reopening of the eastbound lanes.

The identities of the drivers involved have not been released.
