A video posted on Facebook two years ago has recently started to trend on social media again. Read our coverage for this “throwback clip” below:
An alarming video has been posted on Facebook by the owner-operator of JDH Trucking, capturing one of the worst things someone could do to a truck driver.
As he was taking a break in his rig, he heard the loud crash of a trailer hitting the ground. The truck directly across from him had disconnected from it’s trailer.
The owner-operator posted the following caption on his Facebook page explaining the incident:
So I was laying in the bunk today when I heard a huge crash. I got up and saw the guy I front of me had dropped his empty wagon. I went over to help him. He had not been disconnected from his wagon since Dallas so he was concerned that something had failed with his fifth wheel. I asked him if someone might have pulled his pin and he was sure that he had not made anyone mad and he was legally parked. I remembered I had my dash cam running and this is what we found. Thankfully, the trailer did not ride the plate and make it to the freeway where someone could have easily been killed. A police report was made for damage to the trailer and they have a copy of the video. I’m putting this out there in case anyone might recognize the trucking company or driver.
Thanks everyone for your help in this matter. By The way, driver said he would never pull out again without a tug test.
The video captures a man in a blue shirt approaching the truck, when he noticed no one was in it he pulls the pin. When the driver of the truck returns from lunch and tries to drive off, his trailer comes crashing down.
Thankfully he had his dash cam facing the truck the whole time and offered the driver some help. While reviewing the dash cam footage, this is what they saw:
