Police officers in Nebraska captured this thrilling rescue footage after responding to a call about an out-of-control semi truck on Highway 81.

The incident occurred in Madison County, Nebraska, on December 2nd. The dash cam footage was released yesterday.

According to KMTV, Madison County deputy Todd Volk and his partner, deputy Kruid, responded to the call and found the truck driving erratically down Highway 81.

When they approached the truck, they realized the driver was experiencing a medical emergency.

“Deputy Kruid said he got up beside the truck, just to look at the driver, and see if he could get his attention better, and said he just had the blank stare on his face,” Volk told reporters.

“I could see the driver’s head slumped down and felt he was not conscious and it popped in my head that we need to get this vehicle stopped” he added.

That’s when Volk decided to leap into action, which can be seen in the dash cam clip above.

Deputy Volk left his vehicle and jumped onto the cab of the truck. He then made it inside and was able to safely bring the truck to a stop on the side of the road.

It was later revealed the the driver suffered a diabetic episode. Miraculously, no one was injured in the incident.

Madison County Sheriff Vern Hjorth praised deputy Volk for risking his life to save others.
