Police are trying to figure out what caused a tractor trailer to lose control and plow through the parking lot of two fast food restaurants early Tuesday morning.

It happened on July 25th on Interstate 5 in Stockton, California at approximately 2:15 a.m.

According to the Stockton Police Department, the tractor trailer was attempting to make a right from the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard exit off of I-5 when it lost control.

The semi truck went across a street and through a median, toppling a Burger King sign before crashing through a barrier wall and striking a parked car, stopping feet away from a McDonald’s building.

53-year-old Luis Marrot, the driver of the truck, was injured in the wreck and was taken to a nearby hospital.

No other injuries have been reported.

The truck was transporting large PVC pipes and crews spent several hours loading the materials onto another truck and cleaning up the debris.
