Self-driving trucks have gotten a lot of coverage in the mainstream media recently. Whether you love or hate the idea, it appears that these trucks may soon become a reality.

Comedian Stephen Colbert recently highlighted the latest news about self-driving trucks in a hysterical sketch on The Late Show. This one is full of brilliant satire that mocks the very notion of these autonomous trucks.

In his sketch, Colbert insists that,

“I don’t like this robot truck driver thing. The truck driver represents everything that is great about America.”

He continues as he assumes the role of a trucker. With the use of some props, Stephen imitates a truck driver’s altercation with one of these robotic truckers.

Colbert (as a trucker) realizes that there is something fishy going on with the trucker on the other end of his CB and tries to get to the bottom of it by asking a question “only a trucker would know.”

The robot trucker answers correctly, and Colbert, in a sad voice, declares that “it checks out.”

The sketch ends with robot saying,

“Over…humanity is…over.”

Funny but to the point, Stephen Colbert has shed some light on this subject by sharing his opinion on the matter with countless fans.
