A trucker aided in the rescue of two children from a house fire in Iowa on Thursday.
The incident happened on October 19th in Sioux City, Iowa.
According to Sioux Land News, trucker Martin Hughes was driving along Riverside Boulevard when he noticed a mother and two children on the side of the road trying to get his attention.
The driver then pulled over and the mother informed him that her house was on fire and that two of her children were still trapped inside, so Hughes jumped into action.
At first, the driver tried to crawl through the door under the smoke, but it proved too thick so Hughes and the mother went along the outside of the house, busting out all the windows until they found the children and were able to pull them through the window to safety.
Both children were unharmed but Hughes received some cuts from the broken glass. Still, he says he is just happy he was in the right place at the right time and that he was able to offer his help.
