A KLLM terminal in Jackson, Mississippi was on placed lockdown for several hours this morning as police combed the area for a murder suspect police considered “armed and dangerous.”

It happened on Thursday, October 5th at approximately 7 a.m.

According to the Jackson Police Department, at approximately 4 a.m., 27-year-old Jerome Breeland shot and killed 38-year-old Lataurus Lewis at the Village Apartments on Raymond Road.

Police say Breeland then fled the scene in a tractor trailer.

At approximately 7 a.m.,  a SWAT team was called to to an area near the KLLM Transport Services terminal in Richland after Breeland’s cellphone was pinged nearby.

The SWAT team released tear gas into the cab of the truck and made their way inside the rig, but the suspect was not inside.

The KLLM terminal was placed on lockdown for approximately 3 hours as officials searched the area for the allegedly armed and dangerous suspect.

Old Highway 49 was also closed temporarily during the search but has since been reopened.

Breeland was not found and is still considered armed, dangerous, and on the run.
