A tractor trailer nearly cleared a 12’1″ overpass in Pennsylvania this week, but got stuck beneath the bridge at the very last minute.
The incident occurred on Monday, January 8th at approximately 5:10 p.m. in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania.
According to the Radnor Patch, a tractor trailer was traveling north on North Wayne Avenue when it tried to pass beneath the 12 foot 1 inch bridge. Miraculously, the tractor and about 90% of the trailer made it through, but the tail end of the rig got hung up on the bridge’s ceiling, warping the roof of the trailer.
No injuries were reported in the incident, but the truck had to be towed from the scene.
The bridge, which was not damaged in the mishap, is clearly marked with signs listing its height.
The accident occurred in an area famous for catching semi trucks beneath its low hanging bridges, with almost 40 trucks involved in similar accidents in the area since 2008.
