A tractor trailer hauling pigs lost control and overturned, trapping pigs inside the wrecked trailer.

It happened in Ohio at approximately 5:15 am Wednesday morning, April 26 on the exit ramp from eastbound I-80 to Hubbard.

According to WKBN, truck driver Barry Kuhn was traveling east on I-80 when he lost control and ran off the road, destroying a guard rail. Kuhn was able to crawl out of the crashed vehicle and suffered only minor injuries.

Kuhn was arrested after taking a blood alcohol test and charged with OVI (operating a vehicle under the influence),  a seatbelt violation, and failure to control.

25 pigs died in the crash. Two pigs escaped and were left to roam the highway for an extended period of time before a local farmer took them in. The remaining pigs were stuck in the wrecked trailer for several hours before authorities used a tanker truck from the local fire district to spray the pigs with water to keep them cool and hydrated.
