
Black Ice is a serious threat on roadways during the cold winter months. Icy roads cause 467 fatalities a year, on average, and black ice –completely invisible and especially slippery– is the deadliest form.
Below is a great example, the incident happened a few years ago, but similar stories pop up every year.
A big rig in Georgia slipped and crashed, blocking off all oncoming traffic. Scary part is, this damage was caused while traveling at a speed of only 5 miles per hour.
Good thing they weren’t going the speed limit, imagine the carnage then.
Even walking on it is pretty intense, looks like some ice skates would have come in handy.
