
A devastating accident involving an RV and a tractor trailer caused major delays on Interstate 95 on Friday.
It happened at approximately 1:55 p.m. on Interstate 95 (Maine Turnpike) between Saco and Scarborough, Maine.
According to WGME, a pickup pulling an RV was parked on the shoulder of I-95 south near Exit 36 when a tractor trailer ran into the back of the camper.
The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver was not injured.

The RV was destroyed in the accident and police had to search through the rubble to ensure there were no more passengers. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
The Maine Turnpike Authority reports that, as of 3:26 p.m., delays on the northbound side begin at mile 27 and the delays on the southbound side start at mile 45.
Update (6:05 p.m.):
Maine DOT is now reporting delays between Exit 36 (Saco) and Exit 42 (Scarboro) on the north and southbound lanes.
