Interstate 65 was completely shut down after a crash involving three semis left wreckage scattered across both sides of the highway.

It happened on Tuesday, August 22nd on Interstate 65 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

According to Fox 59, a white 1999 Volvo tractor trailer driven by Donald Hardnett jackknifed near a construction zone on I-65 at mile marker 168. At approximately 5:40 a.m., the Volvo struck the barrier wall and sent chunks of concrete into the southbound lanes.

A second semi truck, driven by Victor Chavez, crashed into the jackknifed truck.

A third semi truck, driven by Zlatan Laush, was traveling south on I-65 when it struck the concrete debris pushed into the road by the jackknifed semi truck.

A passenger in the third semi truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

All three drivers were uninjured.

The accident closed both sides of the interstate for several hours. As of 9:30 a.m., the left lanes on both sides of the highway remain shut down.
