Crates of live chickens fell out of a moving truck and landed in front of a KFC store in Melbourne, Australia. To make the situation even more peculiar — a vegan woman happened to be walking by when it occurred and filmed the aftermath.

The onlooker was not happy about the situation. She posted the video to her Facebook page, followed by this statement:

“F***!!!’ I’m so upset. This just happened 10 mins ago. Looks like it fell off a semi and the driver kept on going.

I’m so sad/pissed off/sad/angry and pissed off right now. I had to leave because my 3 yo was getting distressed but I shouted at a few people afterwards who were laughing and had a good chat with a guy who kept backyard chickens and was also visibly upset.

F*** humans.

Please share.

Warning: might be upsetting for some. Sorry about the vid quality, not sure why it’s so lo-res.

EDIT: the truck driver actually had stopped, you can clearly see the semi parked down the road. Only noticed when I watched it hours later.”

Around a hundred chickens managed to escape the truck, but many suffered injuries. In the video, chickens were seen semi-conscious, missing feathers and hardly able to move.

Jess Carter, the vegan who filmed the incident, explained, “People were joking about it, saying KFC won’t have to pluck their chickens at least now.”

KFC commented that the incident was a coincidence and that they obtain their chickens through different suppliers.

No humans were injured in the accident. The cause of the truck’s loose crates was not released.
