A semi truck overturned while trying to dodge a mattress on Interstate 465 in Indiana earlier this week.

The crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. on January 13th, near the I-70 exit.

According to FOX-59, truck driver Charles Jones was traveling on the I-465 southbound lanes when he swerved onto the highway shoulder to avoid a mattress and box spring on the road.

Jones lost control of his rig after hitting an ice patch on the shoulder, causing the tanker truck to overturn. The truck was hauling 6,500 gallons of motor oil, which began to leak onto the road after the crash.

The clean-up process closed the road for several hours. Thankfully, Jones was not injured.

No other vehicles were involved. Officers did not say where the mattress came from.

The incident is similar to a fatal October 2015 crash, when a tanker truck exploded in New Jersey after it also swerved because of a mattress on the road.
