The Michigan State Police just announced the results of their “Eyes on 94” safety blitz, which took place earlier this month.
“Eyes on 94” was a crash reduction effort, focused on commercial vehicles traveling on the Interstate 94 corridor. It took place from December 7th to the 11th.
According to the MSP, the results of the 5-day safety campaign were as follows:
-542 roadside semi truck inspections were performed.
-455 truck drivers received citations.
-827 truck drivers received warnings.
The most common citation was for speeding, followed by improper lane use.
Captain Michael Krumm commented on the results, “This enforcement effort is a great example of the commitment by the MSP, Indiana State Police and Ohio Highway Patrol to raise awareness of the behaviors that lead to commercial vehicle crashes.”
The Indiana State Police and Ohio Highway Patrol also joined in on the action. They issued a combined 471 citation during the 5 day period.
