In 2013, a small band was formed called “The Road Birds” and recently launched their debut album “Road Trip”. They’re a rockin’ country band dedicated to, and very passionate about, trucking and the life of truckers.
In their description, they claim to be a group with no political agenda. “They stand firmly against all forms of abuse and, more specifically, the abuse of power.”
It’s easy to say that these guys “get it”. By “it” I mean the everyday struggles that goes on in the life of truck driver.
The best song that showcases this notion is “Darn D.O.T.”
I’m sure the title will give you a little insight on what the song’s about.
The description says it, “satirically addresses the issues and challenges that truck driver’s face on the road. The song aims to improve the trucking industry with the belief that transportation officials and drivers have to mutually respect each other and work together as a team.”
But let’s be honest here, the song is about how much the D.O.T. can (sometimes) be a pain in the you-know-what.
