He may look like a green horn but don’t let his age fool ya, Chris Miller has been around a truck for as long as he could walk. The 20-year-old spent most of his childhood working on trucks, polishing them and driving them.
Like most youngsters, he got into trucking because of his family.
“Once it’s in your blood, it’s in your blood. You can’t really get it out.” says Miller about his trucking roots.
In his video, part of the Life of a Trucker series by Tex Crowley, Miller mentions the decline of respect for the industry, not just from 4-wheelers, but from fellow truckers as well.
He recalls the times when he was a child, and how it wasn’t uncommon for someone to stop what they were doing to help someone else out. Nowadays, Miller says, people are too concerned about saving themselves 5 seconds of the day.
He encourages every one to lend a helping hand to those in need, because only the drivers themselves can make the trucking community the family it once was.
