Looking for identifiable millennials to show your teenagers that the American dream is still possible even in this recession that has hit young adults relatively hard? Look no further than 18-year-old Evan Jensen, an aspiring musician who is looking to pay his own way through music school.
Evan, while on a trip to North Dakota to help his older brother find work in the oil boomtown of Bakken, noticed that there was a lack of housing, and basic necessities like showers. Some of the truckers told him that they would drive 60 miles out for a decent shower.
That got Evan thinking about a business that charged a nominal price of $5-10 per shower would yield profits after all the overhead charges were taken care of. Evan was so serious about this plan that his parents partnered up with him and invested in the shower house idea.
This is where Evan got creative, he proposed to use his father’s old 53 foot Semi as the main shower house and he got family and friends to help remodel it. A couple of months later the business is doing well and the truckers love the convenience of a portable shower house. Evan says that he loves music but if it doesn’t pay the bills, he needs to do something that does.
What do you think of this young man’s entrepreneurial venture?
