A 141 mph police chase ended in the motorist’s crash with a semi truck in Ohio Thursday morning.
The incident occurred on the morning of June 21st in Wadsworth, Ohio.
According to News 5 Cleveland, 30 year old motorist Michael Graham was clocked going 141 mph on Interstate 71 south by Strongsville Police at around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday. Officers then began to pursue him all the way to Route 18, but eventually called off the pursuit due to dangerously high speeds.
Several hours later, a Medina County Deputy located Graham’s car at a gas station in Litchfield, but Graham quickly sped up again, tearing through neighborhoods at speeds of 114 mph., quickly shaking off pursuing officers once again.
Shortly thereafter, another deputy saw Graham pull into the apartment complex where he lives, leading to yet another police chase onto Interstate 76 eastbound where, just seconds after police called off the chase yet again, Graham crashed into a semi truck near the Route 94 exit in Wadsworth.
The crash completely destroyed Graham’s sedan, but he managed to escaped the totaled sedan and flee from police on foot. He was found near a Wadsworth park several hours later, where he was apprehended.
The unnamed truck driver was not killed in the crash, but it is not clear whether he sustained any injuries in the incident.
Graham has been taken into custody and is currently facing charges of eluding police. He is said to have a “previous record,” but did not have any active warrants at the time of the pursuit.
