A one million pound transformer is continuing its journey across Arkansas today, June 30th, via Interstate 49.

According to 4029 News, the 300-foot load got back on the road today at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to drive until 3 p.m. It has 30 axles and is currently in route to a Southwestern Electric Power Company substation off of Highway 244.

The transformer will be transported at 10-15 miles an hour and will have to be pushed and pulled by numerous trucks throughout its journey.

This enormous load started it’s trip on Highway 412 outside of Tontitown and continued heading south on Highway 112. Today, the truck entered Interstate 49, where it will remain until the load reaches Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The transformer will then continue onto Highway 62 and then to Highway 59 through Cincinnati until it eventually heads east on Highway 244.

Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department warns that the oversized load will cause significant traffic delays as it moves across the state.
