truckers-deliver-baby

What would you do if a woman went into labor while you were sitting in a Denny’s restaurant, enjoying your cheeseburger and fries?

Well that is exactly what happened to two drivers last Thanksgiving weekend in Texarkana, AR.

Kaycee Triana went into labor and was being driven to the hospital by her sister. The two stopped by Denny’s to pick up their mother when Kaycee rushed into Denny’s screaming that her baby was coming! There just wasn’t enough time for them to get to the hospital as planned.

The two drivers heard her screams for help and rushed to her rescue, delivering a healthy 10 pound baby. Right there in Denny’s!

The scariest part about this is that the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck! But the drivers knew what to do, stayed calm, and delivered the baby boy.

Now we all know that flight attendants and police officers learn how to deliver babies. But where the heck did these drivers get their training? Last we checked, birthing babies wasn’t in the CDL manual.

The family has since been in touch with the drivers to express their appreciation. As for the child, his name is Andrew, and we wonder if he’ll grow up and become a trucker one day too?
