A 31-year-old woman died in a truck stop in Forest Park, Georgia, on Tuesday morning. It happened at the Sun Petro Truck Stop on Forest Parkway, around 10:00 a.m.
Ira Collier, a driver for Southern Refrigerated Transport, said that he and his girlfriend fell asleep in his truck at night, but when he woke up she was gone. He says that a man knocked on his truck’s door in the morning and told him she was in bad shape.
“She left some time last night while I was asleep, then I woke up to a man banging on my truck saying, ‘Man, you need to come get your girl because she’s all messed up. I don’t even know who the man was,” Collier told reporters from Fox-5.
That’s when Collier left his rig and found his girlfriend’s lifeless body in the truck stop.
“She was snoring. I watched her then fell asleep. When I woke up, she was gone,” Collier added.
Police say Collier has been cooperate with investigators and that there are no signs of foul play.
“There were no signs of foul play, but we have to treat this as suspicious since women in their 30s usually just don’t die from natural causes,” said Captain Delk.
