Residents of West Columbus, Ohio, are upset at semi trucks entering their local roads at night, waking them up from their sleep.
Neighbors have complained, specifically, about trucks turning onto El Paso Drive, south of Interstate 70, in order to enter a Waffle House with truck parking.
Paul Johnson told WBNS-TV, “I’ve been woke up so many times and stayed up so many times because of semi-trucks. I can’t sleep at night because I’m so used to looking out the window all night long.”
According to WBNS, the road is clearly labeled with a “no trucks” signs, but the Waffle House’s parking lot entrance is located on the road. The Waffle House also has signs instructing truck drivers to use the road in order to enter it’s lot.
Residents looking to stop truckers from turning onto the road, may be out of luck, as the Columbus Police Department has issued an official response to the complaints. Sergeant Rich Weiner, of the CPS, says while it’s illegal for trucks to completely pass through or park on the no-truck road, it is completely legal for truck drivers to enter the road in order to get into the parking lot.
