Four people were taken to the hospital after two semi trucks struck an overpass in Nebraska.
The incident occurred on Interstate 80, just west of exit 257, on Saturday.
According to News 2 – Nebraska, one of the trucks slipped on the icy highway and hit the other truck. The impact caused both rigs to strike a pillar under the bridge.
The driver of the first truck, 27-year-old Johnny Perez, was airlifted to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. His 37-year-old passenger suffered cuts and bruises.
In the second truck, 46-year-old driver Gary Hogan did not suffer any major injuries, however a passenger in the truck’s sleeper berth was rushed to the hospital with bleeding of the brain.
The victims current conditions are unknown, but police said that all four people were alert as of Saturday evening.
The Nebraska State Patrol said there were 37 reported accidents on I-80 on Saturday, 12 of which involved semi trucks.
